The country town of Bardi stands on Appennino Tosco Emiliano, boasting a graceful hilly landscape, dominated by a wonderful medieval castle. Surrounded by ancient polyphyletic meadows that lay under the breeze of sea air, since 10 years now the Brugnoli Family are making their Organic Parmigiano Reggiano DOP registered under No. 3273, by merely milking their cows. With a daily production of eight wheels, we can now take the pride to offer a product aged 24-36 months at least, and more precious ones aged more than 84 months.
With its intense and balanced taste, and recognition by several nutritionists, this cheese received its first “Bio Caseus” award in 2004 in Rome, and another during the edition dedicated to the cheese world championship “Cheese of the Year” at IL BONTÀ in Cremona in 2006. The experience soon led the organic Parmigiano Reggiano DOP “Made in Bardi” to the French kitchen thanks to renowned trade exhibitions. And it was there that organic cheese achieved the highest dignity, and was awarded, in November 2014, at the gastronomy show of Monte Carlo the valuable Grand Prix Slow Food award with a wheel from the family reserve.
